Stetson Mansion Project using
Motif Designs

Listed in the national historic register and designed by the noted architect George T. Pearson in 1886, Stetson Mansion was built in the frame vernacular style. A blend of cottage, gothic, Tudor, Moorish and Polynesian details. The Stetson mansion presents an excellent example of the high Victorian  architecture.
Exquisite inlayed parquet floors have a different pattern in each grand room on the first 2 levels. Carved in woodwork, leaded, stained and rare roundel glass windows compete with the grand staircase for attention.

We were invited by Mary Child of Focal Points  to be part of this exiting art project. With no time to waste, we started  designing the two main ceilings for the Stetson Mansion. The first one was done in Venetian plaster, gold leaf and air-brushing, the second was done on canvas, and applied to the ceiling.
